Board Meeting Minutes

Monday, February 6, 2023; 6:00 p.m.

Geyserville Oriental Hall

Call to Order 6:06 pm, John, Gretchen, Dave, Anna, Paul, Jessica, Kyle, Lisa, Martin & Julia on zoom

Approval of Agenda, motion to approve, Lisa, 2nd by Anna, all approved

Approval of 12/05/22 Minutes, motion to approve, Dave, 2nd by Paul, all approved.

Reports

Treasurer – Anna, Appeal fund raised $17345.07 & Memorial for Harry Bosworth $8080.20. Getting together taxes for 2022. Rozanne Berg in Healdsburg is willing to do them for $350.00.

Motion to retain Rozanne for 2022 taxes by Jessica, Paul 2nd. All in favor.

John asked about the insurance policy and its limits. Anna will check into the policy and its limits.

Website – Martin, Martin met with Kyle about sculpture side of website to add pictures of art & artists. On the Appeal, we said we would report how we used the money. Martin is looking to tie e-mails of donors, so we have them for the future.

Sculpture Garden – Kyle Lehecka, helps Victoria with the sculpture garden.

They have just installed “swimmer.” The butterfly project, 225 butterflies,” Be Brave”, for the community and students to paint. Bryce is working on a piece they call the “Picture Frame”. Metaphase was sold. Golden possibilities is coming from Reno.

There was a motion from Paul to advance Bryce the $200.00 for fuel to pick up and deliver Golden Possibilities to art lot. Jessica 2nd.

John sent out a request letter to the PG & E for $10,000.00.

Geyserville Park - County & State has money they have to spend. It is looking hopeful that the county will contribute $1000000.00, and the state $1500000.00

Motion by Dave for $2500.00 to go to each, La Familia, Redwood Empire Food Bank, The Geyserville Pastoral Fund, and the Geyserville Boys & Girls Club. It was 2nd by Jessica, all in favor.

They will each get $2500.00, and if any donation was specified to go to that fund, they get those funds as well.

Non-profits can have current funds, expendable funds and endowment funds. Un-restricted funds can be spent how the board votes on collectively. Restricted funds are for a specific purpose, and/or organization. Those funds must go where the donor intended them to go.

Corazon & Alexander Valley Health Care are invited to give a presentation

Discussion of Geyserville philanthropy summit

John talked about Carol Beity of Healdsburg Forever. It is a Community Endowment restricted to Healdsburg/Geyserville programs. It would be a good idea to bring together all Geyserville non-profits, Kiwanis, Odd Fellows, GFC.
