Website – Martin (John), Martin has updated the website, it looks really good. We would like to look into setting up an email that we would respond to.
Sculpture Garden – Kyle Lehecka, Geyserville Elementary School has finished painting their butterflies. They turned out great. The painting is sponsored by Kylie Kneely & Bryce Jones. The High School still needs to finish their butterflies, at this moment the school is out for the summer. The 10’ picture frame will hopefully be finished by the time the butterflies are installed, for a special “Butterfly Installation Ceremony” Foley Winery asked to borrow the Easter barrels. Bryce has planted the flowers. He gives the flowers if wanted to local Geyserville businesses. Bryce is actively pursuing grants to help him with the property that the art is displayed on. Kyle is going to verify that he is looking for grants as an individual, not using GCF name. Kyle, Julia & Paul are going to contact Bryce to see what kind of “Butterfly installation Ceremony” he was thinking of.
Dave made a motion to support the “Butterfly Installation Ceremony” up to $1000.00, from the sculpture trail funds subject to Board approval after a budget presentation of plans for ceremony. John 2nd the motion. All in favor.
Old Business
Reports from grant recipients All donors have sent Thank you notes/ reports. Should we include Boys & Girls Club for the next Spring appeal? Their reporting is not as thorough as others. Alexander Health sent an email that described how the money was used within Geyserville. It was a thoughtful and clear how the Geyserville recipients benefited from the donation.
Student Member – we will take this off the agenda for next time. Kyle mentioned she is at the school and will ask if any of the students might be interested in being a part of the meetings of GCF.
Service Group Presentation Invite/scheduling: At this time, we are good with the groups we have. La Familia, Alexander Health Care, Geyserville Church and Boys & Girls Club of Geyserville.
New Business
Spring Appeal: Dave mentioned a couple of suggestions to help make it stand out a little bit more. Bullet points being a little bolder and high light the positive outcomes of the prior donations. John is going to ask the Planning Committee for a copy of their e-mails.
Julia motioned for John to have up to $1000.00 for Spring Appeal letter. Anna 2nd. All in favor.
New Projects: Church is not in the position to do any construction/painting at this time. They are looking to raise money for their current costs. Odd Fellows is going to have a presentation on June 27th about the earthquake renovations. John is going to attend and will report back to GCF. John will have more details next meeting, he is going to meet with Walter from MAC. Mac wants to support programs in Geyserville but they are looking how to disburse the funds. Stacy is going to look into banners for GCF. She will check on price, size, color. Can we just get one or do we need two? We might want one for a table at functions, and /or one to put out on a fence if we are part of an event.
Philanthropy Summit: It would be ideal to have a master calendar of local events and how can we partner and leverage with other community groups to all work together.
John & Anna talked with Dana, the insurance carrier. There will be a catastrophe clause on the current policy. We want to make sure everyone is covered in the event of an unforeseen incident.
