Reports
Treasurer – Anna: Bryce gave back $200, that he did not use for picking up an art piece. $3688.99 was sent to Geyserville School for Oliver Ranch Tour. Insurance is a little higher than last year. Additional Rider is approximately $600.00 more. The sculpture Garden funds pay 80%, 20% out of General Funds for insurance. Taxes are being worked on by Roxanne Berg in Healdsburg, extension until October. Paul and John are added as signers to the GCF account.
Website – Martin The web site looks great, if we would like to add pictures, Martin can add them.
Sculpture Garden – Kyle Lehecka/ Victoria: Huge “Picture Frame: is up, it looks great at night time, the solar power makes it stand out. The high school will be finishing up their part of “the Butterfly Project” this week. September 23,24 or 30th possible dates for Installation event. ADA toilets needed. If anyone needs landscaping chips, Bryce is giving them away free. Art Torano, downtown Geyserville corner lot, will allow us to use his property if he named on our insurance policy. When Bryce and/or Victoria apply for grants, using GCF, they will forward copies to John. Geyserville Sculpture Trail is also called Geyserville Sculpture Trail and Garden. Dave is willing to work Anna to clarify the insurance for the Art Torano project. Victoria is going to send the electronic agreement to David.
New Business:
Spring Appeal did not go out. The church sent out a flier previously, and we do not want to interfere with other organizations fund raising. The church did raise some money. We are thinking about only doing one appeal this year.
New Projects: John motioned to accept the “Hand”, Martin 2nd All in favor. Very large going to sit right in the middle of Art Torano’s property. 12’ X 5 1/2’ high covered with anti -graffiti sealant.
Walter/ Chair, Gretchen Vice Chair Adrian/treasurer of MAC, spoke about expanding the role of GFC with MAC. MAC is not a 501C3. The county is funding the park in Geyserville, Mac will need the 501C3 to apply for grants. They are suggesting working with GCF to allow them to expand and increase the grants. If we expand our scope we can take on more projects??? Adrian is working on grants for data gathering for wells in Alexander Valley. Potter Valley Project is monitoring surface water, weather data, water use. How are we going to manage water for Alexander Valley in the future?? If we applied for the grant and we got the money than we would work together with PepperWood.
Do we want to position GFC, into taking grants? Do we need staffing, accounting, grant writing? Is this the direction we want to go?
Paul & Kyle met with Bryce, he wanted $1500.00 for the “Butterfly Event”
John motioned to give him $1250.00 from the general fund, and $250.00 out of Sculpture Trail fund, Kyle 2nd it. All in favor.
Odd Fellows Presentation for earthquake retrofit: Architect pointed out the roof of Odd Fellows, with the potential of development. Life safety fix 3 ½ million dollars, Steve Oliver wants the building to survive an earthquake, 5 ½ million dollars. Eight million to gut the building and rebuild it. Odd Fellows is back in good standing with taxes
